Position Summary The successful candidate(s) will be joining a group of 10 anesthesiologists and provide anaesthesia services at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH). In addition to providing general anesthetics for services including general surgery, ENT, gynecology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, urology and ophthalmology, the successful candidate will possess experience in managing pediatric and obstetrical cases. Other responsibilities will include pre-admission clinic consultations, administrating sedation in the endoscopy suite and providing support for difficult cases in the emergency department. Opportunity for ultrasound guided regional anesthesia and for participation in anaesthesia procedure clinic for chronic pain management exists for candidates with adequate training. Requirements On-Call: Provision of average of 1 in 10 on-call. Administrative and Quality: Participation in strategic planning and program development of anesthesia related services. Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities related to anaesthesia care. Participation in hospital committees pertaining to specialty and as required by the credentialed staff by-laws. Efficient use of resources. Utilization: Provide a central role for prioritization of after hour cases. REMUNERATION: Alternative Payment Plan (APP) HOCC for on-call Requirements Qualifications Education: College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfill the requirements of this position. Fellowship in Anaesthesia recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or GP Anaesthesia training provided by a recognized Canadian university program.
