Cambridge Memorial Hospital is looking for a cardiologist with Level III Echocardiography training. Level II Echocardiography level will be considered if the candidate has extensive experience and other qualities desirable to CMH. Experience in leadership positions would be an asset. The Cambridge Memorial Hospital facilities include a Cardiac Respiratory Unit that provides testing in 2D echocardiogram, stress echocardiography, exercise stress test, Holter monitoring, as well as full pulmonary function testing. The Echocardiography Laboratory is accredited under the Echocardiography Quality Improvement Program in Ontario. The applicant is expected to assist in expanding the echocardiography program to increase stress echocardiography capacity, and resume trans esophageal echocardiography. CMH also has a robust nuclear medicine program providing full nuclear cardiology testing. CMH is a busy 190-bed community hospital, with a tight-knit and collegial medical staff. We have recently completed an exciting Capital Redevelopment Project, including brand new facilities in the Operating Room, Recovery Room, Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Construction is ongoing to completely refurbish the remaining inpatient units. CMH features a high-volume Emergency Room, a closed ICU, RCPSC Anesthesia, an Oncology Clinic and a full complement of medical and surgical sub-specialties. This is further supported by full Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services, including CT, MRI and 24/7 Radiology coverage. We are affiliated with the Waterloo Campus of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University and regularly participate in teaching medical students and residents. Cambridge is a family-friendly city located along the Grand River, in Waterloo Region. We are within about 1 hour of Toronto, London and Hamilton and close to University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, McMaster University, University of Guelph and Conestoga College. Requirements Applicants must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have an independent practice license or eligible for same. Certification or eligibility for certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiology through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons is also required. On call requirements will include coverage in cardiology only. However, interest in general medicine/ICU coverage will be considered (but not required) with appropriate experience.
