This is a great opportunity for a physician looking to practice rural emergency medicine in the beautiful community of Deep River, situated along the Ottawa River and just two hours from the nations capital and big city amenities. This opportunity provides additional financial support based on eligibility through the Ministry's Tier 1, Emergency Department Recruitment Program over a two year contract. The eligible physician would have an independent practice license with CPSO and valid OHIP billing number. Not previously worked in an Emergency Department in Ontario in a FT position, but for those in a PT position looking to increase to FT would be eligible. The program runs for two years with the physician agreeing to work a minimum of 28 hours/weekly or averaged out to 1456 hours a year. Typical ED shifts are 12 hours in length (0600-1800, 1800-0600) with the option to do back to back shifts and additional hours above the required 28 hours, if desired. In a 24 hour period our volume ranges between 35-42 patients with the majority being CTAS 4 or 5.
