In addition, there is an option to join the Emergency Department group as well as other hospitalist work. The Opportunity: Opportunities are currently available at two of the three clinics with the Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT). Your Family Medicine practice will be fully supported by the SCFHT which is comprised of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacy and Chiropody and other specialties. All of our Family Medicine clinics use the Telus PSS Electronic Medical Record. New physicians to the Kenora area find they are supported by our local physician group, specialists, and service organizations. The Lake of Woods District Hospital is an Accredited teaching hospital that offers a full range of emergency and ambulatory care, mental health, maternal and child health, and acute care services, including general medicine, intensive care, surgical services, and palliative care. It also manages a broad range of outpatient services including dialysis, chemotherapy, diagnostic imaging, mammography, ultrasound, CT (MRI coming soon), visiting specialist clinics, addiction counseling and detoxification, a sexual assault program, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, and various education programs. Lake of the Woods Health Sciences Campus in Kenora is designated one of Northwestern Ontario’s Health Care Hubs and is a Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) teaching site.
