Position Summary Attending Physician works collaboratively with our Medical Director and Executive Director while providing exemplary resident-centred medical care. The physician will support a roster of residents that will fluctuate from 80-94 residents, depending on the care model and distribution of responsibilities among the medical team. This position also offers the successful candidate to consider assuming the Medical Director role, providing clinical leadership, physician oversight, and strategic direction for medical services within the home. Support and transition planning will be provided for physicians interested in stepping into this leadership position. Required Qualifications & Attributes for Attending Physicians ● Member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) ● Experience working in long-term care, or a willingness to be mentored by the Medical Director and Nurse Practitioner ● Ability to build trust and interact professionally with residents, their families, and team members ● Highly developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team Desirable Qualifications / Experience (Not Required) ● Knowledge of legislation and regulations governing long-term care (e.g., Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/22) ● Experience with PointClickCare, eMAR, and eConnect ● Knowledge of InterRAI LTCF and resident care plan review and updating processes Accountabilities ● Conduct scheduled in-person rounds at the long-term care home to provide acute clinical care, preventative assessments, and support quality of life for residents with chronic conditions ● Document all visits by recording SOAP notes in the PointClickCare electronic health record ● Identify circumstances where palliative and/or end-of-life care may benefit residents and families, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team ● Work effectively and efficiently with members of the interdisciplinary team, including the Medical Director, to ensure the highest level of care is provided to residents ● Conduct regular medication reviews every three months in collaboration with the pharmacist ● Availability for same day level urgency phone calls or messages from our nursing team only Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00. ● NO evening or weekend on-call requirements, at this time Why Huntsville / Muskoka?
