Actively seeking family physicians interested in a community family medicine practice which could include in-patient care and/or weekend hospitalist at the Ross Memorial Hospital located in Lindsay, Ontario. Opportunities available to join the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Organization/Family Health Team by beginning a new practice in a variety of locations in the City of Kawartha Lakes (Lindsay, Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Omemee). The City of Kawartha Lakes Faily Health Organization consists of 19 physicians located throughout the area and is supported by a strong Family Health Team. The City of Kawartha Lakes (https://www.kawarthalakes.ca/en/index.aspx) is the rural paradise of south-central Ontario. Encompassing the communities of Bobcaygeon, Coboconk, Fenelon Falls, Kinmount, Lindsay, Omemee and Woodville, the city boasts both small town charm and cottage country beauty. With over 250 lakes and rivers in the area, as well as links to the Trent-Severn Waterway, the City of Kawartha Lakes is a well-established tourist area with a myriad of year-round recreational activities. Complimentary to these are a variety of cultural amenities including The Lindsay Gallery and The Academy Theatre, Kawartha Settlers' Village, Globus Theatre, and the Grove Theatre. The City of Kawartha Lakes offers a variety of educational opportunities with a public and separate school system including French Immersion and International Baccalaureate programs. The Ross Memorial Hospital (https://rmh.org/), located in Lindsay, is an accredited 170 bed community hospital that meets the needs of over 100,000 people. A blend of primary and secondary services are provided by a group of family physicians and specialists to address the complex needs of our community. A core of general surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, opthalmologists, and obstetricians support a broad range of surgical services. These surgical services are supported by a blend of FRCP and GP Anesthetists. A team of internists support a 24/7 ICU and consultation services including a full range of cardiology, GI diagnostic testing, respirology, and endocrinology. Emergency medicine is provided for over 45,000 visits per year on a 24/7 basis. A state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging service is supported by on-site and off-site radiologists, allowing the maintenance of 24/7 CT and MRI services. Specific patient needs are supported by an inpatient rehabilitation service, a palliative care unit, an outpatient dialysis unit, and chronic complex care capability. Requirements Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized medical school. Completion of residency in Family Medicine. Licensure: Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Ontario (registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario). Certification: Certification in Family Medicine by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is preferred. Experience: Relevant clinical experience in primary care settings. Experience working with diverse populations and communities is an asset. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Personal Attributes: Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Conduct physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans. Manage chronic diseases and promote preventive care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
