Groves Memorial Community Hospital - Fergus/Elora, ON Our Groves Hospital system is comprised of three day-time hospitalists, and one nocturnist for full 24h comprehensive coverage. The inpatient team is responsible for: · All hospital admissions, discharges and daily rounding for all medical patients. · Attending daily multidisciplinary rounds · Responding to codes (ACLS required) Accompanying patients on transfer to higher level hospitals if required · Learners: at least one provider of the 3 on for each 24h period should be willing to work with learners; adjunct professorship not required, but available through Mac if interested · It will be responsibility of provider to arrange for coverage if unable to work the week they are assigned Please feel free to reach out with any questions - we are happy to have you come by to Groves for a site-visit. Requirements Hospitalist: 7-day rotations*, start days Saturdays or Mondays, hours 0700-1500h or 1200-2000 h with dedicated handover time from 0700-0730 and 1930-2000 h. Stipend of $500/d if contracted and $400/d if casual + FFS (average daily $1500+). Nocturnist: 7-day rotations, start night Sunday, hours 1930-0700h, with dedicated handover from 0700-0730 and 1930-2000h. Stipend of $800/night (regardless of contracting) + FFS (projected average of $2000+). Scheduling is based on an 8-week rotation; sign on options include: 1. Casual: be on a list of providers willing to provide any amount of coverage should scheduled provider (hospitalist/nocturnist) not be able to work their assigned week. Please note this is not a contracted position. 2. Split week: partner with another provider to do either 3 or 4 days in a week on a set interval (either 1 in 4, 1 in 5, 1 in 6, 1 in 7, or 1 in 8 weeks) either as a daytime hospitalist or a nocturnist. Please note that these will be contracted positions. We have onsite social work, physio, SLP, RT, HCC, a geriatrics emergency management (GEM) team, general surgery, internal medicine and OBGYN all available to support you. Our hospital does not have an ICU and hospitalists are not responsible for any vented patients. An ER physician is always in-house and available to assist with codes. Our obstetrics & neonates are covered by a separate group of physicians. We have no pediatric inpatients.
